Eat, See, Wear: Ojai, CA

January 25, 2016

Nothing says California laid-back style like Ojai. Nestled north of Los Angeles and east of Santa Barbara, this quaint, cozy and beautiful destination is always at the top of our travel list (and might just be our future retirement plan).

With plenty of outdoor activities, yummy local restaurants and the best resort and spa in the country, it’s no wonder we cherish our time in this magical place.

Here’s our top recommendation of where to eat, see, wear august style!

By far the best breakfast is Farmer and the Cook. This local joint has a rugged hippie feel with locally grown food. And their smoothies are out of this world!

Get lunch at Boccali's. Fun pizza spot with outdoor picnic benches. Perfect for families or hanging with friends.

Our top dinner place is Osteria Monte Grappa. Gourmet Italian cuisine with a fun atmosphere. Great for groups or a romantic date and located in the center of town.

If you’re feeling crazy, head to the Deer Lodge bar for some drinks, live music and great people watching.

If you’re in the mood to be one with nature, our favorite hike in Ojai is the Cozy Dell Trail. It’s a moderate hike that's 3 miles out and back. Pups are welcome too!

For the spiritual gangsters out there, you must visit Meditation Mount. Propped up on a hill overlooking all of Ojai, you can stroll the property and mediate. If you go at sunset, you might even catch the pink moment.

If you are in Ojai on a Sunday, you must visit the adorable Farmer’s Market. Think organic produce, delicious smelling homemade candles, raw chocolate, local honey, beautiful flowers and the list goes on.

Now it’s time to get serious. If you are staying the night, love the spa, and enchanting scenery, you must stay at Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. Hands down our favorite hotel in the world! It’s not cheap, but if there’s an occasion or you do a mid-week special, it’s so worth it.

Packing for any destination is always stressful. Ojai is no different since it’s a little bit boho, a little bit chic. Think booties and Birkenstocks, casual dresses and jeans, warm sweaters and turquoise jewelry. In the summer it is crazy hot and the winter can get pretty chilly. Regardless of the season, august's San Remo bag is functional, yet stylish for any Ojai occasion. Wear it like a cross body for adventuring or turn it into a clutch for dining out.

However you wear it, this bag will make the perfect accessory for your next trip to the majestic Ojai, CA!
