Globetrotting - Girona, Spain

December 15, 2015

A little off the beaten path, about 45 minutes north of Barcelona lies a gorgeous Spanish hill town called Girona.  With ramblas like Barcelona but a small, hometown feel Girona is authentic Spain.  We love walking the ancient walls of the city for breathtaking views and renting a bike for some of the best biking in the world just outside the city.

El Cellar de can Roca, consistently voted one of the best restaurants in the world is located here and there are endless tapas spots to enjoy authentic Catalonian food.  Late night grab a table at one of the outdoor cafes around the main square and mingle with locals and watch the kids play soccer while drinking wines from nearby Rioja and snacking on tomato rubbed bread and chorizo.

Buy Spanish made shoes as you wander the ramblas, stopping into international and local brand stores before grabbing a gelato.  One of our friends, Jordi: a 7 foot local (hard to miss), lives here and makes the best cocktails in town!  Ask him where to go for your night cap.

Bon Voyage!
